DomBonsai was born from a family passion that has been growing in our home gardens for more than 30 years.We are not a large commercial nursery or a mass producer. Instead, we cultivate a small collection of bonsai, pre-bonsai and young trees, giving each one the time, attention and patience it deserves. Every tree is cared for by hand through every stage of its life — from its very first roots to a mature bonsai.

For us, trees are a way to slow down.They offer a moment away from busy schedules and the constant rush of everyday life. We believe that a good tree cannot be created quickly. It takes time, patience and years of careful work.Alongside our mature bonsai, we also grow the next generation of trees. We propagate from our mother trees, sow seeds, root cuttings, collect promising young material and guide every tree through its natural stages of development.Every tree has its own story — a story that begins long before it finds a new home.

Our Private Collection

Our family’s passion for trees has grown for more than 30 years. Over that time we have built a private collection of bonsai and trees that have been with us for many seasons. Every tree has its own story and continues to develop at its own natural pace.We are always looking for healthy and interesting material, but we devote just as much attention to the trees that have been with us for years. They are regularly repotted, pruned, shaped and carefully maintained as they continue their journey.Many of our oldest trees have become our mother trees. Using traditional propagation methods such as air layering, seed growing and vegetative propagation, they give rise to the next generation of trees.In this way, the story of many trees in our collection does not end with a single specimen. It continues through new generations that, over time, become part of the DomBonsai collection as well.

The Nursery

Our family nursery is where every tree begins its journey.Here, trees pass through every stage of development — from freshly rooted cuttings and seedlings, to young trees, pre-bonsai and, eventually, mature bonsai.Some remain part of our private collection, while others, after years of careful cultivation, find a new home.We believe that a good tree cannot be rushed. Every specimen is allowed to develop at its own natural pace, while we guide and care for it through every stage of its life.Tree RecordsSince 2025, every tree in our nursery has been recorded in our internal tree registry.Each tree receives its own unique identification number and an individual record documenting its origin, propagation method, repotting history, cultivation work and development over the years.This allows many of our trees to have a documented history from the very beginning of their life.Stages of DevelopmentEvery tree in our nursery belongs to one of five stages of development.🌱 Bare Root (0+ years)The earliest stage of a tree’s life. A newly rooted cutting or seedling with an exposed root system, ready for further cultivation and future development.🌿 Young Tree (2+ years)A healthy young tree with an established root system. At this stage it begins developing its trunk and primary branch structure while continuing to grow naturally.🌳 Pre-Bonsai (5+ years)A tree with a developed trunk and basic branch structure, ready for more advanced styling and refinement. This is where its individual character begins to emerge.🌲 Bonsai (7+ years)A mature bonsai with an established silhouette, developed nebari and refined branch structure. Even at this stage, every season continues to shape its character.🌸 Collection Tree (10+ years)The oldest trees in our collection. These long-term specimens often become mother trees, providing the foundation for future generations grown at DomBonsai.

Available Trees

We offer seedlings, young trees, pre-bonsai and mature bonsai grown in our family nursery.Every tree has its own unique record. Along with each tree, we provide information about its origin, development and basic care, allowing its story to continue with its new owner.All sales are made directly from our nursery. We believe that choosing a tree should be a personal experience, giving you the opportunity to see it in person, learn its history and select the specimen that feels right for you.
